How we do business

At HBFS our aim is to build up long term relationships with our clients and that is only achieved by gaining their trust and giving them the service they expect.

HBFS are aware that getting the right advice means speaking to the right people. Financial decisions are important decisions and you have to have confidence in the ability and integrity of your adviser.

This is why we offer a free, no obligation initial meeting at our offices or at your home or place of employment anywhere in the North East.

The object of this initial meeting is to establish your needs, how we can help you and how we are paid for our services. We offer fee or commission based remuneration or a combination of them both so you will be clear on the costs before you enter into a business relationship with us.

A copy of our Initial Disclosure Document and Client Fee Agreement which we go through at this initial meeting is viewable from the Contact Us section.

Depending on your instructions we will carry out a needs analysis based on your current situation taking into account any specific plans and/or targets you may have. We will then advise you on anything from a short term financial objective to a lifetime financial plan.

The Firm is directly Authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we are obligated to provide advice most suited to the clients personal requirements, affordability and attitude to risk.

We are totally committed to Treating Customers Fairly and constantly monitor the service we provide by encouraging clients to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.

For your further peace of mind, we are registered under the Consumer Credit Act and Data Protection Act and hold the appropriate licences. We hold Professional Indemnity Insurance and subscribe fully to the Financial Ombudsman Scheme and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, both bodies of which exist to further consumer protection.
